Just wrapped-up a nice meeting with someone within the BU Alumni Association and soaked in more insight and information.
We have a really nice lineup this afternoon with Belton QB David Ash, a UT commit, Broncos and former BU center J.D. Walton and working on a couple of website writers on BU football.
Tomorrow, we've already lined-up Kim Mulkey, Gary Baxter and Mickey Spagnola.
Man, getting the housing and bank stuff done yesterday has really allowed me to start focusing even more on things we MUST accomplish on 1660ESPN.
Oh, got a call from an old friend who once lived in Tyler and he's invited me to Ridgewood C.C. for a round...and it didn't take long for me to answer, "Yes."

Finally, a place to stay and a bank account...
Well, I spent most of Tuesday trying to finalize a couple of personal things, included a place to stay for the next few months and a local bank.
I found a really nice place on Lakeshore Drive---not a bad drive, in fact it's an enjoyable and relaxing drive.
Our station is going to be moving to Bagby, overlooking Cottonwood Creek Golf Course sometime in late-August or early-September and I looked around that area but feel really good about what I found.
Meanwhile, wrapped-up another show with Butch and Paul and enjoyed the discussion from listeners about Baylor's "Rise Up" campaign to fill up Floyd Casey Stadium.
From all indications, it appears as if there are a variety of either reasons or excuses for the attendance issues.
My feeling comes down to the team winning or having the BU fan-base feel like they can win entering a majority of their games.
I've been contacted by several fans of all ages on their ideas and now I need to do some of my own studying and research to form a better and more educated opinion.
Thanks again for the nice comments and some of the suggestions as well.

Week 3 in Waco...
Returned to Waco tonight, spent some great quality time with some of my teammates at M&M Broadcasting.
There are so many options and opportunities in front of us---it's exciting and hard to fathom...and seriously, we've only just begun.
Not everyone confirmed, but it appears our Tuesday lineup will include, Randy Galloway (FW Star-Telegram, ESPN Radio-Dallas), Gary Baxter (Former BU Cornerback), and John McClain (Houston Chronicle).
Again, I can't thank everyone enough for the first couple of weeks. Hitting the streets with more sponsorship opportunities on Tuesday and trying to maintain, sustain and continue the momentum.

Sunday, July 4th
Cindy, Craig, Jennifer and I are relaxing on the back porch about to cook some ribs, deer sausage, Earl Campbell's sausage, and just picked-up some Johnsonville sausage too.
I shot 76 today at Hollytree C.C. with my buddies, Gene, John, Joe, and Bruce. I was fortunate to shoot even par on the front nine, but didn't sustain the momentum and especially on the par 5 14th and 16th.
I had a great time, but I need to FINISH a round better.
We're about to light the charcoal, light up a nice cigar and enjoy family and the 4th of July.
About to turn the Rangers game on against the White Sox.

Enjoying a quiet Saturday night in Tyler...
Well, started the day fixing a few things up at the office at 1660ESPN, and then met Quan Cosby at his appearance at Salty Dog.
What an absolutely good young man.
There was a large crowd there even before he arrived at noon, and then a bunch of young kids showed up as well.
Salty Dog owner, Randy Crook, was very pleased with the turnout and we'll be working together on some future appearances.
I also saw our co-host Butch Henry at the appearance too.
Meanwhile, I drove back to Tyler after talking with Quan and it's been nice to unwind a little bit.
Just finished cooking a couple of steaks for my wife Cindy and I. She's watching a couple of shows on the Food Network and I'm returning some email and adding to this blog.
Our son Craig and his girlfriend Mandee have been at some friends house watching the Lesnar-Carlin UFC fight...and Craig just called and said Lesnar, "proved himself tonight--coming back from being in big trouble in the first round."
Depending on the weather, I'm hoping to play a round of golf at Hollytree Country Club on Sunday.
Our daughter Jennifer returns from being out of town tomorrow and so we'll have a big evening cooking out, relaxing, and enjoying the time together.
I mentioned this earlier, but we won't be on the air until Tuesday----we're broadcasting an afternoon baseball game and then a Rangers game on Monday evening.
We have a nice lineup working for Tuesday...
Have a great 4th of July weekend.

Wrapping up the second week on 1660ESPN.
I'm here at the desk on a Friday evening returning email, working on next week and ready for a nice holiday weekend.
I hope everyone enjoys their time with family and friends, cooking out, BBQ'ing, playing golf or heading to the Lake.
I'll be heading back to Tyler on Saturday afternoon and then returning with a few more things for the long haul in Waco.
It appears as if I finally found a nice play to stay until we make more concrete decisions on where to live.
I feel good about our first two weeks and my first week on the air with Butch and Paul, but we still have to keep grinding away at some gremlins.
I cannot thank the people around Waco enough for the hospitality in making me feel comfortable these first few days.
I've met some really good people, eaten at some great restaurants, enjoyed some camaraderie at a couple of sports bars...and yes, I'm still trying to figure out who designed the streets in Waco...
Ha, couldn't resist.
I think we made tremendous progress on our commitment to audio-streaming, the website, and podcasts--with a nice announcement coming next week on the online streaming.
I'm headed to eat some pizza with John McClain and some media friends in Waco tonight and then hopefully get in a round or two of golf this weekend.
Enjoy the 4th and please be safe.

Thursday, July 1st:
Just wrapped-up another show with Paul and Butch.
I thought we'd get a little more feedback on the Rangers being put up for auction, but we called an audible and discussed a "Mount Rushmore of College Football Coaches," and had some great feedback.
I think we'll continue that for a segment in each of the next few shows, changing the list each day.
Butch is coming up with the group tomorrow.
I'm also working on Baylor commit, Daingerfield OL/DL Donald Bryant for Friday's show, and Quan Cosby as well. Cosby is doing an autograph signing at Salty Dog, 12:00pm-2:00pm on Saturday. We've also lined-up former Cowboys Player Personnel Director Gil Brandt.
My son and his girlfriend are on their way in from Tyler, looking forward to seeing them. They're on vacation this week--both are also in the radio business. Craig co-hosts an afternoon sports talk show in Tyler, Mandee is a very popular DJ on one of the highest-rated stations in the Tyler/Longview market.
I'm headed back to Tyler for a day or two this holiday weekend to see my wife, Cindy, and our daughter Jennifer is supposed to be back from her workouts in Dallas. She's trying out for the Mavericks Dancers at the end of the month.
And, then-back to Waco sometime on Monday.
I hope you get a chance to drop-in for a little bit on Friday or any weekday between 3:00pm-6:00pm.
I've really, really enjoyed my first few days here in Waco and I think we're slowly but surely getting some things done.
