Hello Waco!

This is the opening post of what I hope to be many and I will use this forum as another way to hear from you and give opinions and information.

  1. Pearland Dawson is not a local school. This is in the Houston area. The large school athletes are nice but there are plenty of great athletes from the smaller schools. As Smoaky gets familiar with the area, he will recognize these schools like he did in the Tyler area with Smoaky.com.

  2. Anonymous,

You're right and I know that---the information compiled by one of our staff was very good, but they were confused with Dawson and Pearland Dawson.

My fault for not catching it, and we've deleted the Pearland Dawson recruits.

Thanks for commenting and stay in touch.

  4. Jesse,

Thanks for the nice comments. We made some progress on the audio-streaming, and I spoke with Zach in our production department about uploading some of the interviews.

He needs to work through our Tech department and there's been progress there as well.

Not fast enough for any of us, including you---but we're closer than you think.

Thanks again for listening when you can and giving us important feedback.

  5. Smoaky good to see you back on the air. I enjoyed your show when you were in East Texas. Get that internet feed up so I can tune in from the heart of East Texas.

  6. What format have you used on Friday afternoons leading up to football games and will you be making any changes on how KRZI has been doing Friday afternoons in the Fall? I remember driving around East Texas scouting games and listening to to a roundtable discussion usually emanating from a local restaurant about that night's games on one of the stations. I didn't know if that was your station or not. 1660 has always had a show featuring the local head coaches called Countdown to Kickoff. BTW, which high school will you be broadcasting? Keep up the good work and hopefully Butch isn't discouraged with the ESPN Dallas NBA guy about the Dirk conversation. NBA talk wasn't a big priority with Butch and Tom. I love the balance you are showing between high school/college/pro.

  7. Darrell,

Good stuff, thanks for the feedback and opinions.

Most of the KRZI Friday lineup has been solidified and commitments signed.

I probably don't have time to change much on who we will broadcast or the broadcast teams.

Meanwhile, I am going to commit to doing at least one hour "live" during the afternoon on Friday's which they'd gotten away from based on previous programming.

Not sure why we wouldn't be live with the show on Friday's, and we'll do at least 3pm-4pm, perhaps 3pm-5pm on Friday's and then they'll run numerous high school interviews.

Personally, I'd rather talk with both coaches and players throughout the week during our shows and not 10-15-20 consecutive interviews on Friday evening.

In reference to who I'll broadcast, for now--it appears as if I'll select China Spring for several reasons, but those decisions are on my schedule to handle next week.

I'd also like to look at what they've done in previous years with the scoreboard show, and perhaps add a little something extra to that hour or so too.

I've enjoyed the first week with Butch, Paul and the others.

Thank you for the feedback, it's very important.

We're not going to please everyone, but it won't be from the lack of hard work and commitment.

    Thanks again for contacting me.
