Trying to win each day...

I've developed a saying around the office with those involved with 1660ESPN, "Let's win something every day."

We still have a lot of work to do and I have a pile of programming information to soak in, but I think we've made progress since my arrival on June 22nd.

I'm sure the sales department is wondering, "What is all this stuff?" that I'm asking them to pitch and sell, but there some segments and ideas that I believe will develop energy, excitement, discussion, and revenue.

We've confirmed the following weekly analysts, broadcasters, columnists and players throughout the 2010 football season. And, the following list doesn't include what we'll do covering BU and the Big 12 and high school football.

*Brad Sham, Voice of the Cowboys
*Jay Ratliff, Cowboys Nose Tackle
*Mickey Spagnola, DallasCowboys.com
*Tim MacMahon, ESPNDallas.com
*John McClain, Columnist-Houston Chronicle
*Jennifer Floyd-Engel, Columnist-Fort Worth Star-Telegram

I'm also going to contact Grant Teaff's office about a weekly segment as well---discussing the business side and coaching side of college football.

I've learned a few things about Waco, and I've been here many times before for game broadcasts and watching an occasional Baylor game.

1) The One-Way Street issue is very interesting to say the least.

2) Waco has some GREAT places to eat.

I'll be adding some comments, thoughts, and information from time to time and I hope to get feedback from you too.

  1. Love the football guests and that is an awesome lineup!

What are the chances of getting some baseball commentary as well? McLain has the Astros covered, but what about Eric Nadel maybe (I heard him on John Morris' show I think). Also Jamey Newberg from the newbergreport.com is pretty awesome too when it comes to Ranger baseball.

Just thought i would throw it out there, thanks for upgrading the station!

BTW try Jasper's or Tony Demarias BBQ in Waco, man that is some good stuff.

  2. Lonnie,

    Thanks for the feedback.

We had Rangers GM Jon Daniels on this week, so I think we had the Rangers covered.

I've used Newberg, Nadel, Grieve, Busby, and T.R. Sullivan in the past and we'll be in touch with them as well.
