Just taped a TV interview with KCEN...

Christine Winter called me this morning about a segment on college football and the national rankings and a formula by Cody Kellner that ranks teams based on their record but also margin of victory.

I've never been big on margin of victory but rather strength of schedule and the strength of schedule of your opponents.

Eventually, it's up to any team to win their own games, but personally, I get a better gauge through strength of schedule.

I've used the same philosophy ranking high school football teams.

Example, if a high school team is 0-2 but they've played two state-ranked or highly-ranked teams still being better than a 2-0 team who ran up a couple of wins against bad competition.

I think the interview or a clip or two of it on KCEN's 10pm newscast.

That's also the thing about television compared to radio.

In television, you can record 3-5-7 minutes of an interview and they're looking for a really good 10-20 second audio clip.

In radio, you tape 3-5-7 minutes, you have time to use it all.

It's the difference between a three-hour show and a 3-4 minute sportscast.
