Moving Day, Weekend...

Woke up a little early again today to watch some of the British Open Championship. Looks like the weather has picked-up and the toughest chore for any broadcaster mentioning The Open will be pronouncing the leader, Louis Oosthuizen, who passed Rory McIlroy and threatening to run away with the tournament at -12.

Phil Mickelson appeared to make a move with a 33 on the front nine, but finished even through two rounds and should make the cut.

Tiger Woods started with back-to-back bogeys on 1 and 2, but is now back to -5 overall heading to the back nine.

Saturday in golf is called moving day, Friday, July 16th was semi-moving day for me as I finally got into our cozy little apartment...but the hard work comes this weekend going back to Tyler, loading up the heavy stuff and bringing it back to Waco.

Looking forward to being in my "own place," starting this weekend.

I wanted to play a round of golf, but might have to wait until Sunday.

My favorite restaurant in the world is P.F. Chang's, they don't have one in Waco but Pei Wei will do for now...enjoyed some Sweet and Sour Shrimp for lunch.

  1. I have a suggestion for you guys. Maybe a good one maybe a bad one I am not sure but, how about you create a spot on your website for your listenership to come in chat, voice opinions, respectfully talk a little trash, and basically give the people of this area a vent to be able to show our passion about local, collegiate, and professional sports. Maybe a message board or maybe a forum of some sorts. I know some folks cant handle chatting in a civilized format but if each person were to have to come to the site and register with their verified name and address then they could still post anonymously to the rest of the board but if someone were to get out of line they could be dispatched very quickly because they are a known intentity to whomever controls the forum. We used to have some great discussion on the Waco Trib website before they banned commenting by some bad apples, but the commenting was great at times because of insiders and people with more information and inside scoops would be able to give real scoops and stories about different sport venues. This also led to great discussion on high school football and other local sports. I believe it could only help to increase the exposure of your website, increase viewership of your website, and allow your sales team to add another bullet in their gun to pitch their sponsorship of ESPN 1660. Right now, I would bet your collective sponsorship sales attributed to your website are very low, this is such a great opportunity to focus the growth of your station not only through radio but also through the internet. If you are interested I have some great ideas about how to grow your website and make it the place for sports information and fun for the sports fans of central tx. It is something that does not exist now and could be HUGE in the growth and development of your station.

    Sincerely,

    Kevin H.
